     Healthy Chocolate Cravings

One problem I have with staying on track, is every once in a while, I want chocolate!!!! So what I do, is I make a chocolate cake....I buy a regular devils food cake mix, and mix one small can of Libby's pumpkin (you can't taste the pumpkin) and mix them together, with 1/4 of the can of water, it will be thick, spread it into a 9 x 13, bake @ 350 until the sides come off of the pan.  Let cool at least an hour, may be served as is, or you can put Cool Whip of your choice on top.  Weight Watcher people, it is only one point.  There is tons of fiber, my kids even like it.  Also, it has just enough chocolate and sweet to cut my cravings for a while.  Take some to the neighbor, or give a little to someone else, and then it isn't in the house all the time.  Good luck, anybody have any other chocolate ideas for me?  Looking for all I can get.  Thanks!Smile

I haven't tried the following recipe but I found it on a website called .  It.'s really a great website and has really good recipes and alternatives. This recipe is almost the same as yours but it's for Brownies.  It doesn't use water.  That's the only difference.  Anyway check out that website! I'll have to try both recipes.

Diet Recipe Yum Yum Brownie Muffins

    (1 Muffin, or 3 minis - 180 calories, fat, 37 carbs, , fiber, protein - 3 WW points)

This super-simple 2-ingredient recipe is a Weight Watchers Fave!

1 box devil’s food cake mix
1 can solid pack pumpkin (15 oz.)

    Directions:
Mix the two ingredients together. Don't add anything else that may be mentioned on the box, such as eggs, oil, or water. The mixture will be very thick and you will be tempted to add in other things to make the batter smoother. DO NOT DO THIS AS IT WILL RUIN EVERYTHING! Place batter into muffin tins (or mini muffin tins) lined with paper, or sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 12 regular or 36 mini muffins.

I thought that I had sent this message so hopefully you won't receive this twice.  If you do, Oh well.

I got a similar recipe from a website called "hungry girl".  It starts out with www, but its not letting me sending it with this in it.  It's editing it out.  Maybe they are competitors.  So I figured out a way to do it anyway.  It's a really great website.   It has lots of recipes and makeovers.  Lots of food recommendations also.  The following is a similar recipe but for brownies.  I'll have to try yours and this one also.  Try the website, you'll love it.  I love this website also!

Usually a small piece of dark chocolate (60% cacao or more) works for me.  I really like the individual Ghirardeli squares because it helps to maintain portion control.

     Re: Healthy Chocolate Cravings

My favorite healthy chocolate is an ice cream sandwich.  I use regular chocolate graham crackers.

Break on chocolate graham cracker in half.  Put 2+ tablespoons of fat free whipped topping on one half the graham cracker.  Put the other half on top of the whipped topping to make a sandwich.  Put in the freezer until the whipped topping freezes.  I make up several of these at one time and keep them ready for those late nite snacks.  On Weight Watchers this is only 1 point!!!

Sounds great! Yes Are those ingredients added to the cake mix right out of the box or after the cake mix is made according to directions?

I use this same recipe to bake a cake in an 8 x 8 inch pan.  Instead of cooking spray, my recipe says to grease bottom of the pan with olive oil and bake for 30 min at 350.  Can top with fat free whipped topping.  An entire cake is only about 4 points.
