     New Here

    Hello,

I am 36 and have been working on exercising and eating healthier since July. So far I have lost 40 lbs folowing the Atkins diet but after that loss the scale just stopped moving. During that time my 14 yr old daughter went to the doctor and the doc said she is slightly overweight by about 10 lbs. After many hrs of thinking about me and my family and where I want to be in the future. I have came to the conclusion the only way to get the rest of this weight off (50lbs) that I need to loose and to get my family to eat healthier is to go low fat and low calorie. Especially since heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity run in my family.

My 14 yr old daughter now gos to the gym with me and is eating the same foods as I am. We are working together to get the family healthy.

So I came across this website and thought I would give it a try. I am in need of low calorie/low fat recipes and it looks like there is quite a variety to choose from here.

Any help and guidance anyone could give would be appreciated. Look forward to getting to know you all.

    Thanks

    Robin

     Re: New Here

    Hello,

I too like Robin am new to this site.  I started my weight lose program a few years ago.  I was age 43 at that time and 189lbs, 54lbs overweight I have lost 35 of that and I plattoed.  My gaol is reach 135lbs, that's where I feel my best and I can do things without feeling a little drained.  I feel my health is good but could be better.  I walk 5 miles a day and work out 3 times a week.  I can only do curtian things.  I have a wrist that I can no longer lift heavy things with.  I need help with working out a good workout routin i can stick too.  Work is slow now, I's on unemployment so I can not afford a gym membership.  Can any one help me with this?  My Boyfriend dosen't understand that what's for him is no always good for me.

I love we have a place to go to and feel free to vent or ask for help, without the tears.

    Thanks

    Carsandra
