     Substituting mashed beans?

Has anyone ever heard of substituting mashed beans for fat in baking?  Someone told me that they had chocolate chip cookies made this way that were very very good, but they could never come up with the recipe.

I haven't heard of substituting mashed beans for fat.  I have a couple of quick bread recipes that substitute the fat by using apple sauce.  I also know that you can substitute flax seed meal for part or all of your fat, but it depends on the recipe.  I'll keep my eyes open for the mashed beans as a fat substitute.

Yes I have heard of it.  Deceptively Delicious uses something like that.  I don’t have the exact measurements but that’s what I'm looking on the net for and I saw your question.  The lady I'm working for was telling be about it also.  She said you can use any white bean purée plus a little water as a fat substitute. She has this cook book with all the measurements she is supposed to find for me, they have a web site also.  I think it's called "Lean and Free 2000" I'm sure you can Google it and find something.  I'm going to keep looking now.  Good Luck, if I find anything I'll try posting it to you.

I think apple sauce would be a better choice.

Never heard that one. I've used applesauce and yogurt as replacements.
