     Grandmas with heart disease

Am wondering how many are members with already heart disease??? I am 55 and had a quadruple bypass surgery April 1,2005. I only wish I would have been taught a better way of eating when I was young. I got to learn the hard way. I also quit smoking on Jan 2,2005 3 months before I knew I had anything wrong with my heart, just felt so bad I figured it must be because I smoked for 30 years. I read every label befroe I buy anything. I never bring home junk food as hubby also had open heart surgery in 2000. He has th in-herited bad cholestral thing. I have never had a weight problem and could eat everything and never gain a pound, which is nice but it plugged up the pipes too. Please take this serious, when you are faced with a possible early death, it really isnt a fun thing. I havent figured out why I treated my body so cruely all those years but my Dr told me he turned back the hands of time for me when I awoke after heart surgery and from then on I vowed to live a healthy life. I also have osteoarthritis in both hips so walking isnt something I can do so I must watch my diet closely. I plan to get the next 50 years right! Blessing to those who are trying, it really is worth it.
